Math Institutes forTeachers

Building Math Power Institutes for Teachers raise the mathematics achievement level of students by improving the mathematics content knowledge of their teachers.

Designed with K-5 and 6-8 teachers in mind, BMP Institutes use selected materials from Building Math Power programs to focus on critical content within various mathematics strands and on instructional best practices for the classroom. Participants explore concepts to discover the implications those big ideas have on the curriculum being taught in their classrooms. While the primary focus is on the mathematical ideas, time is also spent examining and building rich mathematics activities to be used with K-5 and 6-8 students.
